Virgin Active Kensington, London

Virgin Active, Kensington, situated in Old Court Place, near High Street Kensington, is one awe-inspiring training paradise. With seven formidable studios, Beyond Movement, an incredible 190 classes per week and the most exquisite pampering extras, it is one of the finest clubs in the Virgin Active Collection. Kensington boasts London's largest reformer Pilates studio, the undisputed champion PUNCH classes, state-of-the art Technogym equipment and now Training Wall®.

The Brief: 

For this exclusive Collection club, the must-have new product for its explosive HEAT classes and boutique ambiance had to be the unique and innovative Training Wall®. Following the success of Training Wall® at Virgin Active Mansion House, CYC was to supply a second 20-panel functional training station, with handles throughout, and a whole range of accessories. Also requested was a further 4 panels to add diversity and fun to the main gym floor.

The Result: 

An electric functional training zone was created. To accompany the 20 Training Wall® panels, we provided 10 ground tools, 10 rope pullers, 10 chin up bars and 40 TRX hooks to accompany their premium Technogym Artis equipment. Virgin Active opted for spectacular LED colour-changing strip lighting and black, synthetic turf functional flooring, marked out with 10 6-metre lanes. To accommodate the lighting, the panels were mounted 20 mm from the wall, which worked perfectly to give a stunning finish. With capacity for around 30 people to train simultaneously, this is a shining example of excellent space management and boutique fitness elegance.
