HOLD STRONG is forward-looking with a holistic approach to training that has given rise to one of the most exciting and inventive ranges of equipment in the industry. Perfect for both home and commercial fitness studios, HOLD STRONG’s racks, weights, plates, intelligent solutions and fun, innovative, ever-expanding range of functional accessories offer the complete fitness package, with durability and affordability guaranteed.
HOLD STRONG Fitness Change Plates are the perfect complementary product for training with the barbell. The weight discs allow the load to be increased in small increments, starting at 1 kilogram, which is particularly advantageous for beginners who still have low strength values. The Fitness Change Plates are also ideal for exercises such as shoulder presses and muscle snatches, in which usually no high maximum force values are achieved. The use of about 5 kilogram discs would mean an extreme increase relative to the initial weight. For example, if you achieve 25kg when pressing your shoulders and try to increase to 35kg with a jump, you will most likely fail. As a result, many athletes "get stuck" for a long time with the same strength values. Change plates allow a continuous increase. This keeps morale high and is the basis of hypertrophy training, which is about muscle growth through a steady increase in stimuli.
Change plates are now standard equipment in most cross fitness boxes. The reason for this is that the workouts of the annual Open are created in the USA. In order to convert from pounds to kilograms in accordance with the competition, odd loads are required, for example 29kg or 42kg, which can only be put together by change plates.
In contrast to fractional plates, which are made of metal, change plates are completely surrounded by a rubber shell, even on the inner bore. They therefore sit on the barbell without displacement, and can be attached outside the clip. This is particularly advantageous when quickly changing into workouts. Thanks to the special design of the sheathing, each disc fits exactly into the notch of the next heavier plate. With their 51mm hole diameter, the Change Plates fit on any standard compliant barbell bar.
The plates' design is based on the colour scheme of the official "colour code" of Olympic weightlifting and powerlifting, ensuring an intuitive capture of the chosen load by the court martial and the audience. It follows the colour coding of their "big brothers". Since the 25kg disc is red as standard, it is also the 2.5kg change space. The 1.5kg plate is yellow, just like the 15kg disc, and so on. The Change Plates can not only be used on the barbell. The lightweight discs can also be used excellently for mobility and assistance exercises, such as strengthening the rotator cuff. In combination with a dip belt, they are suitable as an additional weight for pull-ups or dips, and with pitch blocks or the grip cylinder for grip strength training.
